Kingston First opens £30,000 local businesses community fund
Kingston First, working in the Business Improvement District, has opened applications for its £30,000 community fund aimed at local businesses in the town centre.
The Town Centre Community Fund is now in its second year, with applications open until 31 January 2025.
Shareena Merzi, Director of Communications and Corporate Development at Kingston First said: "Building on the success of last year's Town Centre Community Fund, we are delighted to be able to allocate a bigger amount of funding - £30,000, to support local and community focused causes that have a positive impact on Kingston town centre.
"The local community plays such an important role in Kingston town centre, and we want to give those lesser-known community groups, social enterprises, charities and individuals an opportunity to bring their ideas to life."
The maximum amount any one business can apply for is £15,000.
Anyone can apply, but the funding is primarily aimed at charities or non-profit organisations.
The application process
Local businesses, charities and non-profit organisations can apply for the Kingston First Fund here.
Applicants need to meet the following criteria to be shortlisted for an interview.
The applicants also need to show how their business will have a positive impact on the Kingston town centre in supporting other local businesses and offering community engagement.
The delivery of the local business or charity needs to be completed between March 2025 – when the funding will be received – and December 2026, with a clear delivery plan.
All successful local businesses that will receive the fund will be announced in early Spring 2025.
