After US President Donald Trump took to social media earlier this week claiming that " a whole civilisation [Iran] will die" amid his war with Iran, the MP for Kingston and Surbiton, Ed Davey is urging the Prime Minister to withdraw US access from UK air bases.

The Lib Dem Leader said: "Right now, Kier Starmer faces a serious choice. Donald Trump has made shocking threats to bomb civilian infrastructure in Iran, something that would amount to war crimes.

"And if US planes launch those attacks from British bases, the UK risks being complicit.

"That's why I'm calling on the Prime Minister to act immediately. Withdraw US access to UK air bases and make it crystal clear British soil will never be used for illegal military action."

He added: "We cannot stand by in silence. We must stand up for the rule of law, for British values, and for peace."

Ed Davey MP previously slammed PM Starmer's granting US permission to use UK air bases.
