Genuine Solutions, a Surbiton based technology recycler, has received B Corp accreditation – a certificate awarded to companies showing high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability.

After launching in 2005 as a distribution business, Genuine Solutions evolved the digital marketplace by giving original tech manufactures the choice of using recovered products.

Today, the Surbiton firm has become one of the most dynamic technology companies in the industry, helping to save the planet by vastly reducing the volume of electronic waste.

The company's customers include Sky, Three and Virgin Media, and their processing of mobile technology devices has led to over 88 million mobile devices and accessories being recovered, preventing 9,000 tonnes of unwanted electrical waste ending up in landfills.

Christian McBride, Genuine Solutions CEO said: "There's one thing believing you are doing the right thing, but quite another getting independent verification that you are. Being a B Corp says a great deal about the kind of company we are and want to be.

"The team has worked really hard to get to this point. In the supply chains we operate, reputation and commitment to certain ways of doing business are critical."

Back in 2012 Ed Davey, MP for Kingston and Surbiton, met with the Genuine Solutions team as he officially opened their Surbiton based office within his constituency and the leader of the liberal democrats ensured he returned to congratulate the firm on their landmark achievement.

He said: "I am thrilled to be back with Genuine Solutions joining them in celebrating this momentous occasion. It's remarkable to see how far they have come over the past ten years, and to meet the new faces in their expanding team."

Genuine Solutions have become the first business in the borough of Kingston upon Thames to achieve B Corp certification, visit their site here to discover more on their sustainable work and commitment to greener redistribution of technology.
