As the opening day of Wimbledon takes place this afternoon, tennis enthusiasts can look forward to a fantastic live screening of both the men's and women's finals this July, with a giant screen set to be situated in Kingston's Market Place.

Kingston First, a not-for-profit organisation helping to support local businesses and residents within the borough, will be responsible for bringing the live screening to Kingston's town centre on the 9th and 10th July.

With vibrant deckchairs having recently been installed in the market place, residents will have the option to soak up the final weekend of Wimbledon drama in the summer sunshine.

The stars of the British game, Emma Raducanu and Andy Murray, are both in action this afternoon and will be hoping for the perfect starts to their 2022 Wimbledon campaigns.

Raducanu will be making her Wimbledon debut following her stunning US open triumph last September and her breakthrough run to the fourth round of last year's tournament, but faces a tricky opponent and grass-court specialist in Alison Van Uytvanck.

The 19-year-old's match will take place before two-time champion Murray faces James Duckworth, as the 35-year-old veteran seeks another tournament run.
