A man was left in A&E after he was attacked in Kingston over the weekend.

Police were called to Wheatfield Way at 3.30am on Saturday, 13 June.

Two men were arrested at the scene, one in his 20s and the other in his 40s. The man in his 40s was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm, and the man in his 20s on suspicion of actual bodily harm.

One of the two was taken to hospital, and is in a stable condition.

Wheatfield Way was consequently closed with bus routes 57, 131, 213, K5 and N87 are on diversion, and the road reopened at around 11.45am on Saturday.

A Met spokesperson told Nub News: "Police were called at approximately 3.30am on Saturday, 13 June, to reports of an assault on Wheatfield Way, Kingston.

"Two men, aged in their 20s and 40s, were arrested at the scene. The man in his 40s was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm, and the man in his 20s on suspicion of actual bodily harm.

"One of the men was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries, where he remains in a stable condition. A crime scene was established and has since been closed.

"Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting CAD 1130/13JUN26. Information can also be provided anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
