The main entrance of Kingston station was sealed off today (14 August) as police officers and forensic experts investigated a crime scene.

Tape stating 'police line do not cross' was put the large pedestrianised area in front of the station's entrance as two police officers and a police car stood guard.

A pair of crime scene investigators were there to collect evidence and could be seen examining a belt left next to a bin outside the station.

Train passengers accessed the station using a side entrance and railway staff stood guard inside warning people away from going towards the main entrance.

The underpass next to the station was also sealed off to the public as part of the crime scene.

Police tape was first spotted in the morning and still there by early afternoon.
