How Kingston Vale neighbours are coming together to tackle isolation with free community activities
By Amanda Beck 28th Oct 2026
These days it is easy to retreat behind your front door and have little to do with your neighbours, according to Wellspring, a local holistic wellness group.
However, in Kingston Vale over the last year, Wellspring has been reaching out to the community successfully to create a "sense of true togetherness and wholeness".
Volunteers have put on a wide variety of weekly activities and frequent social events to include everyone from the community.
Some of the activities include community lunches and walks, film and games nights, mindfulness, meditation and poetry, Tai Chi, stretching and circuit exercise classes, table tennis and specific activities for teenagers and younger people.
The ethos of Wellspring is to promote people's mental, physical, and spiritual wellbeing. According to Wellspring, new connections, new conversations and new friendships are being made all the time, making a real difference to people's lives.

On Sunday, November 1, Wellspring is having a celebratory party to thank the community for its participation, and all are welcome from 12.30pm - 3pm.
Wellspring is based at the Church Hall, in Robin Hood Lane. It is very inclusive and is open to people of any or no faith.
