Local cycling groups are hosting a free cycling event to celebrate International Women's Day.

Kingston Cycling Campaign (KCC) will hold its family friendly ride on Sunday, 8 March,  in association with Full Cycle Community Bike Project.

The 6.5-mile trek will depart from Manor Park Recreation Ground at 10.45am, and pass through Epsom, Ewell, and Merton on its way back to Kingston.

The event, which will feature marshals to keep participants safe, will be KCC's tenth overall, and it is hoped it "will encourage more people to consider using a bike for local journeys."

KCC lobbies for better bike facilities and safer streets across the borough, while Full Cycle aims to improve access to affordable cycling for people of all backgrounds.

Free places for the ride can be secured here.
