Danish homeware store, Søstrene Grene, has announced plans to open its second London shop on Kingston's Thames Street later in the summer.

The Scandinavian retail brand offers a range of products from home candles, interior design, kitchenware, arts and crafts, office stationery and seasonal pieces. London's first shop opened in Wandsworth in May 2023. Søstrene Grene's official opening date in Kingston is to be announced soon.

Mikkel Grene, CEO and co-owner of Søstrene Grene, said: "We are very excited to be opening our second London store in the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames and we look forward to introducing 'hygge' and slow living to the residents of this historic market town."

Hygge is a Danish concept inspiring an atmosphere of cosiness and warmth, surrounding yourself with comfort in the simple pleasures of life.

The new shop will feature Søstrene Grene's iconic labyrinth store layout and a Scandinavian minimalist aesthetic.

Shareena Merzi, Director of Communications and Corporate Development at Kingston First, the town's Business Improvement District, comments: "We're over the moon to welcome Søstrene Grene as the latest brand to open a store in our vibrant market town and look forward to seeing Kingston shoppers embrace the brand's cosy and minimalist Nordic-inspired offering."

The Kingston branch will add to the family-owned retailer's 265+ store in 16 countries.
