Berrylands Station set to close for more than three months next summer

Berrylands Station will close for more than three months while work to replace its wooden platforms takes place.
The station, which opened in 1933 and is one of the few remaining stations in London that still has wooden platforms, has been earmarked for Network Rail's improvement programme over the next five years.
Network Rail has now confirmed that the station will close for more than three months next summer.

This means no trains will call at the station from 11 May 2026 – 23 August 2026.
According to Network Rail, work at the station will be focused on improving safety and ensuring a "reliable experience for passengers".
It added: "We're carrying out essential upgrades at Berrylands to extend the life of the station and improve the experience for passengers travelling via this important suburban hub.
"Our work will see the full refurbishment of Berrylands' two timber platforms and supporting structures, which date back to the 1930s."
Other changes to the station include both platforms being replaced and widened as well as the installation of new lighting, CCTV and information screens.
Network Rail has warned that disruption will include footway restrictions on Lower Marsh Lane, parking suspensions on Chiltern Drive and temporary road closures.
