The niece of a couple who "lost everything", including their home and possessions, in a house fire in New Malden last month is seeking donations to help support the family.

The family's house was destroyed following a house fire at a neighbouring property on Mount Pleasant Road on Saturday, 22 August.

Speaking about her aunty and uncle's loss, Christina said: "'m making a Go Fund Me to help my auntie and uncle raise money as they've lost everything in a house fire. Nothing was salvageable and the house is non-liveable. Please donate if you can. It really helps."

Christina has already managed to raise £1,337 of her £1.3k target.

Additionally, another local resident, Samantha Banton is working alongside local volunteer organisations to help gather gift cards and donations for the family.

In a post on Facebook, she said: "I am working as a volunteer along with many local volunteer organisations, with the family who lost everything, in the house fire [last month] in Mount Pleasant Road, New Malden.

"So far, I have received support from Growbaby Kingston and Paul Pickhaver, Save the World Club, Grace Advocacy, Kingston Foodbank, Various Elected Councillors including our Neighbourhood Chair Cllr Mark Durrant Frsa, and many members of our loving supportive community.
