An 'authentic' Lebanese food chain opened a new venue in Kingston on Saturday (27 September).

Mayyil, the fast-growing Lebanese street food brand, opened the doors to its fourth restaurant at 19 Castle Street on Saturday.

To mark the occasion, Mayyil held a grand opening party, offering the community free tasters of its best-selling items on the menu from 1pm – 4pm.

The opening party saw crowds of visitors queuing down Castle Street just to try Mayyil's menu, and there was live Lebanese music taking place outside.

After waiting in the long queue, I was lucky enough to try Mayyil's Falafel Wrap and it was absolutely delicious – I can't wait to return and try some more items from the menu.

Founded in 2022, Mayyil is part of the Zataro Group and has quickly established itself as one of London's most exciting street food brands.

With two sites in London - Knightsbridge and Notting Hill, and a third site in UAE - the Kingston opening marks another milestone in the brand's rapid expansion.

The name "Mayyil", meaning "Pass by" in Arabic, embodies the brand's mission to offer fast, flavourful, and authentic Lebanese dishes tailored to modern lifestyles.

Speaking about the launch, Ayman Assi, Founder of Mayyil, said: "Our vision with Mayyil has always been simple – to bring the flavours we grew up with to the heart of London in a way that's fast, fresh, and full of soul.

"Kingston is the perfect next step for us."

You can find out more information about Mayyil via its website or by following its Instagram page.
