A NEW branch of the restaurant chain LEON has officially opened in Kingston town centre.

The latest restaurant to open in Kingston, LEON is located on Clarence Street next to shoe shop Schuh.

It is open 11-6pm, seven days a week, and serves a range of mediterranean-inspired food including wraps, salad and rice boxes and side, plus organic and Fairtrade coffee.

High-tech digital menu boards and ordering kiosks have been installed but the restaurant has a big team, creating at least 25 new jobs in the town.

There is space to sit and enjoy your meal inside, while takeaway options are also available.

The restaurant's decor pays tribute to Kingston landmarks including a mural of a red telephone box at the back.

From yesterday, LEON introduced its seasonal specials which it describes as "perfect for Veganuary."

Glenn Edwards, Managing Director, LEON Restaurants commented: "We've had our eye on Clarence St for a few years; it's a great location and has something for everyone.

"It's one of those places we've had a lot of emails about from locals over the years asking us when are we coming to Kingston.

"This site is right at the heart of Kingston, which means we can serve our Naturally Fast Food that tastes good, does you good and is kind to the planet to as many people as possible.

"True to our mission to make it easier for everyone to eat well and live well, we are excited to offer Kingston locals an exciting new dine-in, take-out and delivery option."
