ITALIAN food has returned to Kingston riverside as a branch of the London pizza restaurant 'Eco' has moved in and will open next week.
Eco replaces the old Carluccios on Charter Quay and is set to continue the chain's focus on authentic Italian meals at affordable prices.
Dishes include freshly made pasta, risotto, salads, calzone, and flagship sourdough pizza made with an Egyptian twist thanks to a family recipe from its founder, Sami Wasif.
Mr Wasif was at an exclusive launch of the restaurant last night along with Kingston mayor Cllr Sushila Abraham, who officially welcomed the family-run restaurant to Kingston borough.
Eco's other London branch in Clapham has been going since 1993 and the restaurant has further plans to expand in the capital.
For over-18s an attraction of the restaurant will be its cocktails although the drinks menu is yet to be released.
The new restaurant officially opens to customers next Monday (25 October) and will be giving diners a 50% discount off the whole menu for the entire week to celebrate its arrival.
Mr Wasif's daughter Charmaine said: "For us, food is all about people - that's what Dad brought from Egypt, and what he's always told me.
"He has to see them sat there happy, relaxed, comfortable and enjoying themselves. If they're not, then we've got trouble!"
Prices for pizzas start at £8.50 for a Margherita and the marinaded olive starter is £3.50, establishing the restaurant as firmly mid-market.
You can find the menu HERE and read more about Eco on its website.
