FREE outdoor summer concerts will be returning to the Bandstand at Kingston's Canbury Gardens this summer, it has been announced.
A flyer listing planned concerts at the historic Bandstand built in 1891 was posted by the Canbury Gardens coffee shop Canbury Secret yesterday (12 July).
The programme of events runs from July to September with the first concert starting on Sunday 18 July this week!
Featuring soul, jazz and wind groups - plus the aptly named "Two metres apart" covers band - there's something in the line-up for everyone.
The concerts are free to attend and take place on Sundays from 3pm to 5pm.
They are supported by the Canbury and Riverside Association (CARA) , Canbury Community Trust, Canbury Secrets and the RBK Community Grant.
In a post promoting the event, Canbury Secret said: "The Canbury Bandstand Concerts are back!
"Pass by in Canbury Gardens and enjoy amazing music.
"See you this Sunday 18th July 2021 for the Soul Rites free concert."
Canbury Secret is a seasonal café in the Gardens serving high quality refreshments and fine foods, including Italian-style artisan coffee and gelato ice cream.
It was set up a few years ago after a successful crowdfunding campaign to turn a derelict toilet in the gardens into a community artisan cafe.
