Kingston 2025 is all about celebrating the borough's past, present and future, and what better way to celebrate than by hosting a street party on your road?

Street parties can build connections with your neighbours and be great fun.

It's free to apply to temporarily close your road to hold a street party in Kingston just for close-by neighbours. 

The public Kingston 2025 festivities officially open on Saturday 3 May and events will be running all summer.

When your street party is approved, you will be sent a downloadable pack of posters, invites, activities and information on how to share your party photos so you can potentially be included in the Kingston's archive yourselves.

While there is no need to theme your street parties, Kingston Heritage Services has come up with some, including:

• You could take inspiration from our place as the original royal borough - our residents have turned out in style for Coronations, Royal Jubilees and Weddings. 
• Or mark the 80th anniversary of VE day or VJ day and commemorate the borough's pride as home of the Hawker aircraft
• You could celebrate Kingston's diverse and rich communities with worldwide heritage- perhaps sharing a favourite traditional dish from different heritages   

To apply for a road closure you need to a street party application form  telling Kingston Heritage Services about your plans and showing support from 75% of residents and businesses affected.

Kingston Heritage Services will then get in touch to provide support and guidance and it will take us up to 8 weeks to approve the closure.
