A man who targeted Boots stores across the country has been jailed.

Marius Cazacu, 52, of Colindale Avenue, London, appeared at Kingston Crown Court on 11 September where he was sentenced to 30 months' imprisonment and banned from every Boots store in England and Wales for four years.

Cazacu had been charged with 11 high-value shop theft offences, which he admitted to.

Further inquiries carried out by Norfolk Police's Operation Converter team identified an additional 23 thefts across nine police force areas.

The 34 offences took place between 2024 and 2026. The charged offences and those taken into consideration by the court accounted for almost £55,000 worth of stolen goods.

Duncan Etchells, police staff supervisor for Operation Converter, said: "This investigation demonstrates our commitment to tackling organised retail crime and bringing prolific offenders to justice.

"Working closely with retail partners and police forces across the country, we were able to link Cazacu to a significant number of offences committed over a prolonged period.

"Operation Converter will continue to pursue retail crime groups and individuals wherever their offending takes place.
