Work on improvements to the pedestrian underpass at Kingston Bridge starts this week.

This means the walkway under the bridge will be closed and diversion routes put in place.

Posters on site will signpost pedestrians to either use the stairs or an accessible detour passing through Horsefair tunnel to return to the riverside walkway.

The transformation will see new paintwork, lighting and installation of artwork from Kingston College students celebrating Kingston's Heritage.

The council says it expects work to be completed in June.
