Woman to run Manchester Marathon for Kingston charity
By Tilly O'Brien 14th Apr 2026
Alice Bailey, Caring Café Lead at Crossroads Care Richmond and Kingston, is set to take on the Manchester Marathon on 19 April to raise vital funds for the charity.
As part of her training, Bailey completed the Hampton Court Half Marathon in February, demonstrating her dedication to supporting the charity's mission to provide "essential care and respite for unpaid carers and those they care for".
Bailey said: "I'm running for Crossroads because I have the privilege of working for the charity and see first-hand the incredible dedication and love unpaid carers give to their family members every single day.
"Carers often put their own needs last, and the support Crossroads provides makes a real, tangible difference, offering respite, understanding, and care when it's needed most.
"Training for this challenge won't be easy, but it's nothing compared to the daily challenges unpaid carers face. Every mile I run is for them."
Every donation, big or small, will help Crossroads continue supporting carers in the local community.
Bailey has already raised £520 of her £500 target.
