British heavy metal band Judas Priest will sit down onstage for a live Q&A with a special guest host, at Pryzm this weekend.

Comedian Ed Gamble has made appearances on Off Menu, Taskmaster and the Great British Menu to name a few.

This intimate event coincides with the recent release of the band's latest single, The Serpent and the King, with their new album Invincible Shield launching next week, 8 March.

The event is in partnership with Kingston's Banquet Records.

Things will kick off at 4pm at Pryzm, Clarence Street.

If you are looking for a more music-heavy evening, you can walk around the corner to The Fighting Cocks.

The bar and music venue is hosting King Voodoo, a Liverpool-based band brought together in 2019 by lead guitarist Ian Johnson.

Their 2023 album Hex City has taken them to festivals across the UK and Europe, and have finally landed them in the big leagues here in Kingston.

Joined by The Autumn Killers, Black Roze, and KinStrife, the evening is a must for any local rock or grunge fan.

Doors open at 7:30pm at The Fighting Cocks, Old London Road.

Just in case you hadn't got enough on this Saturday, Repair Café Kingston is holding their monthly meetup at Kingston Library this weekend.

The library's community room will host a number of talented local people ready to give you a hand with any small items that might need a look at.

The group's stated goal is to "help residents save money while keeping repairable stuff out of the waste system".

While you can drop in, booking is advised, especially for the busy electricals and electronics tables.

Bookings and drop-ins run at Kingston Library from 10:30am to 1pm, with last-call at 12:30pm.

Flowers We Give To Ukraine at Rose Theatre Café – all weekend

In case you missed Kingston Nub News' coverage on the ongoing Ukrainian textile exhibit, we thought we'd mention it again!

Organised by local Polish curator Magdalena Glowacka, the show's five tapestries have seen contributions from 180 individuals across the world, most of them migrants or refugees who have had to flee their home countries.

A number of contributors are Kingston locals who attend Ariadne's Thread, a weekly community group that meets at Baking Ideas in nearby Tolworth.

Described by Mayor Cllr Diane White as "fostering understanding, empathy, and unity" within the borough, the exhibition is a must-see.

Flowers We Give To Ukraine will run until 15 March at Rose Theatre Café.
