Victim of last week's tragic Kingston stabbing named
Detectives have identified the name of a man in his mid 20s who was tragically stabbed to death in Kingston last Thursday (October 13) as they continue to appeal for witnesses and information.
The London Ambulance Service and London air ambulance were called to Fairfield Road on October 13 to treat Michael Agyare, who had been found with stab injuries.
Despite the emergency services best efforts, the 24-year-old from Morden died at the scene overlooking Fairfield Park and The Albion, a nearby gastropub.
In a further development, a 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender today, Monday, 17 October, and remains in custody at this stage.
Detective Chief Inspector Wayne Jolley said: "Our investigation continues with the arrest of a man but we still urgently need to speak to anyone who may have information about what happened on Thursday evening.
"It is really important that if you witnessed any part of this incident, even if you don't think it was important, you please come forward and speak to us.
"My thoughts are very much with this young man's family and friends."
Witnesses had previously described how pub staff tried to save Mr Agyare's life when he staggered into the pub after being knifed on park land. One witness speaking to the Evening Standard, said: "I heard some shouting in the park but didn't think anything of it.
"Then there were blue lights everywhere. It's a very nice area, it's the last thing you expect. I had to take my daughter through police raid this morning. It's grim."
Those who witnessed the incident or have information that could help the investigation is urged to call 101 or tweet @MetCC and quote reference 7902/13OCT22.
Information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
