Students of Marymount International School, an independent day and boarding school for girls in Kingston upon Thames, have been left overjoyed with the publication of their International Baccalaureate results received on Wednesday (6th July).

After exams had been cancelled due to the pandemic for the last two years, students at Marymount stepped up and delivered on the big stage, with the class boasting an average of 37 points, comfortable above the global average of 32.

The Class of 2022, a 52 strong cohort, persisted through the challenges of the pandemic during their higher education with a third of the group awarded a Bilingual Diploma.

Students have received prestigious offers from across the board including Durham University, University College London and Parsons School of Design in New York.

Headmistress, Mrs Margaret Giblin, was full of praise for the graduating year.

Speaking to Nub News she said: "Following what has been an unprecedented time for all students on their respective diploma journeys, I am incredibly proud of our Grade 12 students who rose to the challenge with tenacity, resilience and Marymount spirit.

"They embody the holistic characteristics of the IB Learner Profile. It is great to see their hard work and that of our wonderful teachers reap rewards."

Nick Marcou, Senior Deputy Head and IB Coordinator added: "Whilst a Marymount education is not all about IB results, once again I am thrilled to see our students achieving so well in such a demanding curriculum.

"They have paved the perfect pathway for their successors and there is such promise for how much the latest graduating class can achieve in their futures."

Marymount International School was founded in 1955 by the Religious Sacred Heart of Mary (RSHM) order. It is situated on a seven-acre campus and has over 50 nationalities represented among its students, catering for girls between 11-18 year of age.
