Stuck In The 70s

About: Are you stuck in the 70s? Feel good in flares? Like to walk tall on platform boots? Look glam in glitter? Then you need to come down to Teddington Constitutional Club this weekend.

Hosts Markus and the one-and-only Disco Sue will be on hand to take you right back to yesteryear, with around 300 vinyl to choose from each night.

Add in reasonably-priced drinks and £5 tickets, and you have yourself quite the night lined up!

"Dressing up not essential but positively encouraged," say the organisers.

When: Saturday 3 August @ 7:30pm.

Where: Teddington Constitutional Club, 5 Stanley Road, Teddington, TW11 8TP.

Price: £5 entry.

Repair Café Kingston

About: Transition Town Kingston's Repair Café will be back in Kingston Library's community room on the first Saturday morning of the month, helping residents to save money and keep repairable stuff out of the waste system.

Visitors can bring all sorts of broken items to fix on the spot with the help of the skillful volunteer repairers and refreshments while they wait, watch and learn.

When: Saturday 3 August @ 10:30am until 1pm.

Where: Community Room, Kingston Library, Fairfield Road, KT1 2PS.

Price: Free.

Introduction to Sun Printing: Cyanotype

About: Following on from our Teddington site's roundup of short courses at Landmark Arts Centre is this one-day 'sun printing course'.

Using cyanotype, an old photography printing process, students will be able to create otherworldly blue prints using just the sun, creating a striking silhouette on the page.

With the expert guidance of artist, designer, maker, and multi-disciplinary creative tutor Nicolene Grigg, alongside all the equipment being provided, there's no excuse not to give it a go this weekend!

When: Friday 2 August @ 10am to 4pm.

Where: Art Studio, Landmark Arts Centre, Ferry Road, Teddington, TW11 9NN.

Price: £70
