Soaring for support - 10 brave souls zip across Twickenham for Kingston-based charity
By Tilly O'Brien 8th Oct 2026
On 16 October, 10 brave supporters will be soaring across Twickenham's Allianz Stadium on a zip wire to raise vital funds and awareness for Crossroads Care Richmond and Kingston – the charity that supports local unpaid carers and those they look after.
Care Support Workers Olivia and Michelle, Trustee Geoff and his wife Helen, clients Colin and his friend Gavin, along with Neil, Janet and her son Bertie, and supporter Becky, will be swapping solid ground for the thrilling 150-metre zip wire across the famous rugby pitch.
"It's a challenge they're taking on with plenty of enthusiasm and a very important cause in mind", the charity said.
Geoff added: "We're really looking forward to being part of this. It's a chance for all of us to support the incredible work that Crossroads Care does for unpaid carers and the people they care for, of all ages and disabilities.
"So many local families rely on that support and it is great to have this opportunity to help them."
Every pound raised will help Crossroads Care Richmond and Kingston continue providing vital support to often vulnerable and isolated carers and the people they care for across the local community.
