Snow Patrol are performing at Pryzm in Kingston tonight, Monday 16 September with a gig held by Banquet Records.

Tickets for the event, which will be starting at 8pm, are currently sold out.

Snow Patrol are a Northern Irish–Scottish rock band formed in 1994 in Dundee, Scotland, and are most famous for their 2009 hit, 'Chasing Cars'.

The concert is being held in celebration of the release of the band's new album The Forest Is The Path.

The Forest is the Path is an album rooted in reflection, introspection and interrogation.

Snow Patrol's lead singer, Gary Lightbody said that one of its key building blocks, "was the idea of love from a distance".

He said: "I haven't been in a relationship for a very long time, 10 years or more, so love from a distance to me meant the way a relationship sits in your memory from a distance of, say, 10 years.

"That's not something I'd previously thought about as a way to write about love."

He continued: "So it's like, when you're in love, you're standing in the lobby of the Empire State Building.

"When you've broken up with that person, you're out in the street. You can still see the building, but you're not in there anymore. And when it's 10 years later, now you're standing in Brooklyn looking at the Manhattan skyline."

"It's a theme addressed unblinkingly and unflinchingly on lead single 'The Beginning'."

Lightbody said: "That's kind of a summing up of this album.

"It's a way of looking at various mistakes, any pain I may have caused, from a place where nothing is hurting anymore, except the memory when you pull it back into your mind.

"The memory itself is full of hurt but everything around it isn't. You're holding in your hand this ball of fire, but now you've got gloves on."

Banquet Records announced on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday 13 September, the day the album was released, that it is selling personally signed copies of the album, which you can purchase here.

Banquet Records' Jon Tolley said: "Snow Patrol are all time greats. 'Final Straw' still sounds magnificent two decades on, but this week we're celebrating new record The Forest Is The Path, their first record in six years, and it's quintessential Snow Patrol, with Gary's vocals giving you tingles, and that beautifully crafted sound they're known for.

"We'll sell thousands of this album this week, and you can see and hear why."
