Railway worker hit by train in Surbiton named

The railway worker who was hit by a train near Surbiton Station has been named.

Tyler Byrne, 30, was from Aldershot and died in the incident on Tuesday.

British Transport Police spokesperson said: "The man that sadly died at Surbiton station on Tuesday (February 9) has been named as Tyler Byrne, 30, from Aldershot. His family have chosen to release this photo of Tyler."

Detective Chief Inspector Paul Langley said: "This is a tragic incident which has resulted in the very sad death of a railway worker. Our deepest condolences are with the man's family who are being supported by specially trained officers.

"We are conducting full and thorough investigation into the incident and I would like to encourage anyone with information to please contact us as soon as possible.
