The Origin of the Faeces: Poo from the Zoo' exhibition at FUSEBOX has already been making a splash by turning animal dung into an art form.

Now, the exhibition is taking it a step further by hosting what organisers believe is the UK's first-ever animal poo-themed drawing and arts workshop, led by top illustrator Ada Grey, the creative genius behind the images in the best-selling 'Poo in the Zoo' children's picture book series.

This is a free, one-off workshop that will take place at FUSEBOX on Saturday 21 October, from 2 pm to 3 pm, as part of the exhibition in the run up to half-term.

Tracey Lee, the exhibition's curator, was inspired to hold the workshop after seeing the many imaginative poo drawings left by young visitors in the guest book

"It's amazing and heartwarming to see the young people so inspired by this exhibition that they're filling our guest book with drawings of poo and animals along with so many lovely comments about my collection.

"Partnering with the 'Poo in the Zoo' team felt like the perfect chance to offer young artists some expert tips. Who better to guide them than Ada, the fantastic illustrator behind the different animal poos featured in the books?" says Tracey.

The Origin of the Exhibition

'The Origin of the Faeces: Poo from the Zoo' exhibition isn't just about poo; it's a blend of art, ecology, and animal conservation. Tracey has been collecting and preserving animal dung for over 22 years, and this exhibition serves as an educational platform to appreciate nature and learn about the plight of various species.

As well as enjoying the exhibits, visitors on Saturday can also buy copies of the latest 'Poo in the Zoo' book, 'Merry PooPmas', written by Steve Smallman and illustrated by Ada Grey.

Don't Miss Out! - Final week!

'The Origin of the Faeces' is a free exhibition for all the family open throughout half-term until Saturday 28th October at FUSEBOX. For more information and opening hours visit: https://creativeyouthcharity.org/whats-on/
