Plans have been revealed to build 41 homes near Surbiton train station.

The scheme would see new flats and townhouses built at 113-121 Brighton Road, around a 10-minute walk from Surbiton station.

It comes after developer Real Property Holdings Limited won permission to build 19 flats and offices in a block up to four storeys tall at 119-121 Brighton Road in November 2018. It later reviewed the plans after buying 113-117 Brighton Road as it wants to combine both sites.

The company has now submitted plans to Kingston Council to build a total of 41 homes across both sites in two buildings up to four storeys tall, including 35 flats and six townhouses.

The development would also have a communal garden for residents, along with one disabled car parking space and 70 cycle parking spaces.

A report submitted with the application described the overall site as "well-served by public transport", with Surbiton station less than 0.75km away. It said the scheme would "deliver a new, high-quality residential building that will provide much-needed homes within Surbiton".

The report added: "The proposed development will also make better and more efficient use of a vacant brownfield site which in turn, will contribute positively to the landscape and character of Brighton Road."

Kingston Council will make a decision on the plans in due course.
