Person taken to hospital after car flips over in Kingston

A person was taken to hospital after a car hit a lamppost and flipped over in Kingston yesterday.

The incident occurred at around 5.25pm near the junction of Tudor Drive and Cranmer Road.

The driver of the car was treated at the scene and taken to hospital in an ambulance.

A section of Tudor Drive between Cranmer Road and Barnsfield Avenue was closed to allow emergency vehicles access to the incident.

Lisa Maguire, who was at the scene, said: "I heard a bang and looked out to see the car had flipped over.

"The driver crawled out though the window almost immediately.

"He was shaken but had no visible injuries."

Police, two fire engines and a fire rescue crew from Heston Fire Station attended the scene.

A police spokesperson said today there were no arrests or injuries following the incident, but some damage to street furniture which has been reported to the Council.
