Met officer compared to Usain Bolt following Tolworth police chase

A Met Police officer has been compared to Usain Bolt after chasing a dangerous driver and car thief down the A3 dual carriageway near Tolworth, according to Need To Know.

The man, who claims to have stolen a Mini, crashed the car with multiple cars before crashing into a wall on the A3 near Tolworth in May last year, and is now set to face a year in prison.

Need To Know reports that he had embarked on a crazy cruise around the area before he was spotted driving dangerously by officers who attempted to pull him over.

After resisting, he put his foot down sparking an intense chase.

After crashing the car, the man ran attempted to flee the scene but ran down the wrong way of the dual carriageway.

A Met Police officer on the chase continued his pursuit on foot, showcasing his rapid speed.

The bodycam footage shows the driver being arrested and admitting to stealing the vehicle as well.

The police officer has been compared to Usain Bolt after sprinting down a dual carriageway to chase the man.

Need To Know reports of various public responses:

Local Paul Gomez said: "Was that copper Usain Bolt?"

James Saunders added: "The cardio."

Andy said: "Think he needs to eat less pies so he can escape the police next time."

One added: "Joker thought it was the Italian Job."

Another said: "Was the geezer playing GTA in real life."
