Man dies and two women seriously injured after crash on Twickenham Bridge

A 74-year-old man has died and two women have been seriously injured following a major crash involving two cars on Twickenham Bridge.
Emergency services were called to the scene at around 2:32pm on Tuesday, 16 June following reports of a serious road traffic collision on the busy bridge linking Twickenham and Richmond.
The London Ambulance Service said it dispatched ambulance crews, paramedics in fast response cars, an incident response officer, specialist paramedics from its hazardous area response team, as well as London's Air Ambulance.
Despite the efforts of medics, one patient was pronounced dead at the scene.
A spokesperson for London Ambulance Service said: "We treated a patient but sadly, despite our best efforts they were pronounced dead at the scene.
"Three other patients were treated at the scene and taken to a major trauma centre as a priority."
The Met Police later confirmed the man who died was aged 74. Officers said his next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
Two women, aged 74 and 82, were also taken to hospital following the collision.
Police said the 74-year-old woman remains in a life-threatening condition, while the 82-year-old woman suffered injuries described as life-changing.
A Met Police spokesperson told Nub News: "On Tuesday, 16 June at 14:32hrs police were called to reports of a serious collision between two cars on Twickenham Bridge.
"Officers attended alongside the London Ambulance Service and London Fire Brigade. Despite the best efforts of paramedics, a 74-year-old man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
"No arrests have been made and an investigation is underway."
The London Fire Brigade said firefighters from Richmond, Heston and Chelsea fire stations were sent to the incident shortly after 2:38pm.
Crews worked to free a woman trapped inside one of the vehicles before she was handed over to paramedics.
A fire brigade spokesperson said: "The collision involved two vehicles. One man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
"Firefighters released a woman who was confirmed to be trapped inside one of the vehicles. She was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service along with one further casualty."
The bridge was partially closed while emergency services responded, bust has since reopened with temporary barriers in place.
Police are now appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.
