Kingston First to host mid-summer celebration evening next week

The event will take place at the Eagle Brewery Wharf from 5pm - 9pm on Wednesday, 24 June.
Speaking about the event, Kingston First said: "There is something for all the family with children's activities, live music, tai chi and talks from the artist, naturalist, landscape architect and landscapers who helped shape the recent transformation of the site from the views shared by the community.
"Come and relax and explore how biodiversity and heritage have influenced this space enjoyed by people who live, work and visit by the riverside at Kingston."
What the expected schedule looks like:
Children's activities - create your own mini bug house/ mini swift tower, learn about the new trees and explore through brass rubbing [5pm-8pm] plus don't forget the play trail!
Music - PaperGarden records bring live music acts [5pm-6pm, 6:45-8pm]
Site talks [6pm-6:45]
- Farrar Huxley Architects
- Elliot Newton, Citizen Zoo
- Will Nash, Sculptor
- Blakedown Landscapes
Minima boat racing - If the weather conditions allow, Minima sailing club will run their Wednesday night race in front of Eagle Brewery Wharf with commentary at around 8pm - updates will be provided on the evening.
Sundown Tai Chi with Master Ying Tai Chi Group [8pm-9pm].
