Kingston University community on standby to help students enrol on A-level results day

Kingston University has established a dedicated Clearing Operations Centre with hundreds of additional telephone lines to field calls from prospective students on A-level results day tomorrow (Thursday, 14 August) and beyond.
The University's UK Admissions Manager, Ed Beales, said: "Clearing is an opportunity for A-level students and other applicants with a broad range of qualifications both domestic and international to apply directly to Kingston University to start their preferred undergraduate course this Autumn.
"While the Clearing period runs until classes start in October, A-level results day is always very busy.
"We have hundreds of call operators on standby to answer calls from applicants who may have changed their mind about what and where they want to study and others who may be contemplating a career change and return to university.
"Our call operators are staff and students who work and study at Kingston University. They can provide expert advice on what courses are available through Clearing and what information you need to provide secure your place."

Alongside the call operators are more than 300 academics who will be able to answer questions about specific courses and Kingston University's sector-leading Future Skills programme.
Among them will be Professor of Criminology Marisa Silvestri, who said Kingston offers many benefits for students.
"We're one of just 26 UK institutions to hold a TEF Gold rating, recognising excellence in teaching, student experience, and graduate outcomes," she added.
"Employability is baked in. Our Future Skills programme develops key employability attributes such as digital literacy, adaptability, and communication. Our close ties with employers provide opportunities for networking, work experience, and skills development."
The University has provided its top three tips for securing a place at the University through Clearing:
- Do your homework: Research your course options by visiting our Courses in Clearing webpage. Narrow your list as much as possible and have a second and third option if your top choice is no longer available.
- Be prepared: Before calling our Clearing Hotline, make sure you have your UCAS ID (if you have one) and exam results including level two and three (GCSE and A-Levels/BTEC or equivalent) to hand.
- Be persistent: If our Clearing Hotline is busy, keep trying. Our friendly call handlers are available until 7pm on Thursday, from 8.30am to 6pm on Friday 15 August and from 10am to 4pm on Saturday 16 August.
