SANTAS are needed for a festive fundraiser in Bushy Park as an Esher-based hospice seeks to raise just under £70,000 to continue its vital work.

Participants donning Father Christmas outfits are invited to run, jog or walk a 5k course and raise at least £100 for The Princess Alice Hospice.

The charity provide high-quality care for people across Surrey with life-limiting or terminal illnesses but rely on donations to run its services.

The hospice's annual Santa Fun Run is now in its 14th year and will include two in-person runs at Bushy Park, limited to 250 people per event.

It is also running virtual fun-runs and encourages 'Santas' to get creative with their fundraising - for example by skiing or paddle-boarding a 5k.

The hospice are hoping to raise £69,500 from the runs and so far have £5,198 towards their goal, so every sign-up and penny donated really counts.

Dogs, buggies and wheelchairs are all welcome at the Bushy Park runs, and the event isn't timed, so Santas can go as slow or fast as they like!

The registration fee is £25 for 16 year olds and above, £10 for 5- 15 year olds, and FREE for under-5s. Everyone who signs up gets a free Santa suit or if you're under-12 reindeer ears.
