A nail and beauty salon in Kingston is seeking permission from Kingston Council to supply alcohol.

Kingston Nails & Beauty, located on Eden Street, hopes to supply alcohol during its operating hours of 10am – 7pm Monday – Friday and 11am – 5pm on Sundays.

The salon, which first opened in 2017, says it believes this licensing application should be accepted because it wants to serve its customers.

It added that it will only serve alcohol to customers are over 18 and are using the salon's services.

Should the application be accepted, Kingston Nails & Beauty says that it will "promote sensible management of any premises", implement a strict age verification policy to ensure alcohol is not sold to minors, and train its staff to recognise and deal with any issues.

It says it will also work with local authorities to prevent crime and disorder and public nuisance.

Residents have until 29 July to make representations.
