According to My London, "some London Councils are slapping charges of over £100 per year on residents for garden waste collections, while others provide the service free of charge to all residents with a garden".

And Kingston Council is one of them.

Kingston, along with next door Richmond, is one of the most expensive areas in London with the council charging £101 for 12 month bin collection subscription, and £18 per bin.

However, My London writes, "you can avoid these costs in all boroughs by simply taking your garden waste to a local recycling centre. Just ensure to check your centre's booking policy and opening hours before turning up."
