COVID-19 continues to dominated our lives but a little bit of normality resumed this week.

Children went back to school from Monday and it is not long until the next unlocking on March 29th.

But how is Kingston in particular shaping up in the battle against COVID-19.

Nub News has taken a look at the numbers.

Cases are actually up compared to this time last week.

89 people in the borough tested positive in the past seven days - an increase of 23%.

The rate per 100,000 is still low however at 45.

At the beginning of January this was at 865.

Deaths are plateauing with three people sadly dying in the last seven days in Kingston.

This is the same as in the previous seven.

Finally hospitalisations are moving in the right direction.

23 people have been admitted into Kingston Hospital with COVID-19 in the last seven days.

This is down 20% compared to the past seven days.

Pupils going back to school is likely behind the upturn in cases as more and more people are tested.

It is important that we keep following the rules as long as they remain in place.
