A couple from Kingston will be launching the opening of their new Pokémon and other trading cards shop in New Malden next weekend.

Natasha and Nick May, who also have a TikTok business, will be launching the opening of Thunderbolt Cards, which is located on Coombe Road, next Sunday, 1 February.

Speaking about opening a new shop, Natasha said: "The New Malden shop is for us to add a face to face retail aspect to our current online business will continue alongside the retail shop.

"As parents of two boys ourselves we have witnessed and are very passionate about the positives of Pokémon card collecting and would love to showcase this to our local community."

The couple have two sons aged nine and seven who Natsha says "are Pokémon obsessed and excited to play Pokemon tcg with others in the area".

She added: "Opening a shop is the next big step: a place for the local and wider community to connect, collect, and celebrate everything they love about Pokémon and other trading cards."

Nick got back into Pokémon just over five years ago, rediscovering the magic of collecting that had been part of his childhood. As he shared that passion online, a community began to form and kept growing.

In 2023, Natasha left her job to join Nick, and together they turned what started as a hobby into a full-time passion project.

The new shop will sell single cards and graded cards with a whole wall dedicated to them and will have tables for people to play different trading card games and to open packs.

It will buy single cards and graded cards from people wanting to sell or trade to it.

The New Malden shop will be open every day except Mondays.
