Several planned roadworks are scheduled to take place across Surbiton throughout January and early February, with motorists and pedestrians advised to plan ahead and allow extra time for journeys.

Portsmouth Road in Surbiton will be closed near the junction with Cleaveland Road on Tuesday 3 February, from 7.30pm to 11.30pm. The closure is required for a sewer cover replacement being carried out by Thames Water Utilities (TWU).

Maple Road in Surbiton will be closed in sections as works progress along the road from 12 January to 31 January. A footway closure will also be in place, and pedestrians are advised to use an alternative route. The works are for tree pruning.

Two-way temporary traffic signals will be in operation 24 hours a day near the rail bridge on Brighton Road from 19 January to 30 January. The works are being carried out by Thames Water to repair a 24-inch trunk main.

Ewell Road in Surbiton will have multi-way traffic signals at the junction with Princes Avenue and Elgar Avenue from 26 January to 28 January, operating overnight between 8.00pm and 5.00am. The works are being undertaken by Virgin Media to pump out a manhole chamber and install cabling.
