Kingston's annual Christmas Market officially returned to its usual spot in the Ancient Market Place on Thursday (13 November).

Running daily until 28 December (bar Christmas Day) the market has seen the return of several of its usual stalls, including Kohler Kusse (selling "luxury" German chocolate), Wonderful Things (selling festive-themed trinkets), a stall selling Yorkshire Pudding wraps, a sweet stall, and a bratwurst stall.

A bar and seating area has also been set up as well as the Pyramid Stage, which will see live music performances weekly throughout the festive period.

Kingston Christmas Market's stalls will be open from 10am – 6pm from Sunday to Wednesday and 10am – 8pm from Thursday to Saturday with the stalls closing at an earlier time (5.30pm) on Christmas Eve.

However, the market's bar, food, and entertainment will run from 10am – 8pm on Sundays and Mondays, 10am – 9pm on Wednesdays, and 10am – 10pm on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays with an earlier finish of 8pm on Christmas Eve.

Last month (October), Kingston Council approved plans for the usual market, which is organised by Keston Events, to operate every November and December until 2029.

The planning application sought permission for the "continued operation of the seasonal 'Kingston Christmas Market' within the Ancient Market Place."

It also sought "temporary permission to allow the Christmas Market comprising of 20 wooden market stalls, 1 no central pyramid bar, along with associated furniture, stage and temporary toilet block [as well as the] installation of a 7m Christmas Tree."

Entertainment will include live music, Christmas choirs, local bands, and an open-mic night. Food options will include continental bratwurst to hog roasts and street food from across the globe.
