Kingston Race and Equalities Council (KREC) has announced that the borough's annual carnival will not return this year.

In a social media post, KREC said: KREC and Kingston Council regret to announce that Kingston Carnival 2026 will not take place this year.

"After careful consideration, we have decided to postpone the event until 2027 to ensure its long-term sustainability and continued success.

"More information will follow shortly."

Thousands of people showed up to last year's event, so locals are likely to be disappointed by the news.
