Pupils at Kingston Academy are celebrating the school's strongest-ever set of A-level results, with 40% of grades awarded at A* or A.

The Year 13 cohort received their results today (13 August), with the school highlighting the achievements of its 105 students.

Overall, 40% of grades were A or A*, compared with 30% nationally, while 70% were graded B or above, compared with 56% nationally.

The school said 20 students achieved three or more A levels at A* or A, while the results also led to a record number of students being offered places at Russell Group universities.

Among those celebrating were Catriona, who will study Medicine at the University of Birmingham, Ella, who has accepted an offer to study French at the University of Oxford, and Lyanne, who will study Chemical Engineering at the University of Cambridge.

Kingston Academy said the results had opened up a range of opportunities for its students, with outstanding grades helping them secure places at leading universities and other pathways.

A spokesperson for the school said: "This cohort has been a genuine pleasure to work with. Their hard work, commitment and ambition have been evident throughout their time at TKA, and we congratulate every student on their achievements.

"We wish them every success and happiness as they embark on the next stage of their lives."
