Hampton Wick Surgery cycles over 20 miles for Help for Heroes Charity

On Sunday, 23 March, Hampton Wick Surgery cycled 20.43 miles (32.8km) to raise money for Help for Heroes, a British charity which supports members of the British Armed Forces community with their physical and mental health, as well as their financial, social and welfare needs. 

The team raised £291 for the charity.

Each year, the Surgery usually decides to raise money for a chosen charity on a.

This year it decided to raise money for Help for Heroes because it is an armed forces veteran-friendly accredited practice.

 In the past, the surgery has raised money for charities in other ways, such as sleepouts, walks, and mud runs.

This year, the team mutually decided to cycle.

 Speaking about the day, a member of the Hampton Wick Surgery cycling team said: "We thoroughly enjoyed the day, feeling we had done something rewarding and proactive.

"It's great to get out and keep active which is not usually something I would do on a Sunday, I feel fabulous for it."

Another said: "It was so much fun. I may take up cycling, we should start a cycling club"
