The date that indoor spaces at Hampton Court Palace will re-open has finally been announced.

Historic Royal Palaces (HRP) revealed on Twitter earlier today that visitors will be allowed inside Hampton Court on Thursday 20 May.

HRP said in the tweet: "It feels like we've been waiting for centuries, but we're delighted to finally say: one month to go!

"We can't wait to welcome you back into #HamptonCourtPalace's magnificent indoor spaces."

The Tower of London will open its indoor spaces a day earlier, on Wednesday 19 May.
