Aspiring and early career theatre directors can now apply for a fellowship with Kingston's own Rose Theatre.

Established in 2019, the theatre's Peter Hall Emerging Artists Fellowship gives emerging directors the opportunity to assist with productions and direct one of their own at the theatre.

The role is part-time and runs from September 2021 to May 2022.

It comes with a bursary of £10,000, paid in monthly instalments.

Candidates must have a passion for theatre as an artform and be able to demonstrate a distinctive vision for the kind of theatre they aspire to make.

The Rose Theatre has said it particularly welcomes applicants from all backgrounds and are especially keen to hear from artists who consider themselves to have protected characteristics or are in disadvantaged circumstances.

Applications close on May 7 and interviews will commence on the week beginning May 24. The fellow will be appointed on 11 June.
