Police were called to an incident on Boxing Day after a victim discovered their vehicle had been broken into and £2,800 of items stolen within, including a selection of board games intended for a "family fun day".

After reviewing CCTV footage of the incident, officers were able to swiftly identify the suspect.

Within 90 minutes of the emergency call, they were able to track the address of the suspect, where he was then arrested.

The suspect has been charged with theft from a motor vehicle and has appeared in court.

In a statement, police said "we had him banged to rights and he didn't even have a Cluedo, and we recovered a vast majority of the stolen items including the victim's board games".
