Visit Spirit of Invention, a fun, free, family-friendly design exhibition at The National Archives in Kew.

See 21st century inventions including a clean air necklace that monitors air pollution, Colin Furze's hoverbike and robot jellyfish! Plus more than 15 quirky Victorian inventions, including an airship designed for the Arctic and a self-ventilating top hat.

The exhibition has been inspired by the incredible inventions in the Board of Trade design registers, kept at The National Archives. These huge cloth-bound volumes officially registered 'useful designs' or inventions from people between 1843 and 1884. One of these registers forms part of the exhibition.

Bring your family along to this free day out and relax in our spacious café afterwards!

The exhibition is open Tuesday-Sunday until October 29, 2023. For more information visit https://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk
