Kingston Council has granted planning permission for a former NHS clinic on Hawks Road to be converted into apartments.

The application, which is for Hawks Road Clinic, sought permission for the "Demolition of existing Hawks Road Clinic to provide two buildings comprising flexible Use Class E and F2 floorspace and 125 Use Class C3 residential apartments, landscaping, parking facilities, cycle parking facilities, servicing, access and associated public realm improvements".

Hawks Road Clinic closed in February 2020 and was used temporarily as a Covid vaccination centre during the pandemic.

London Square initially submitted the application to build 125 homes across two buildings of 13 and seven storeys back in July 2022.

The development will be "car-free", with just four disabled parking spaces proposed and 237 cycle parking spaces. 63 of the homes would be affordable.
