A semi-detached house on Elm Road, Kingston, was attended by firefighters this week after a fire was reported in the property's loft.

Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters from Kingston, Surbiton, New Malden and Twickenham helped tackle the fire on Monday, 13 May, after receiving a call at 7:11pm.

Part of the loft was damaged by the fire, but there were no reports of any injuries.

The fire is believed to have been accidental, caused by hot works – construction that uses or creates open flames such as welding, cutting, or grinding – taking place.

London Fire Brigade crews left the scene at 8:08pm.
