London Fire Brigade (LFB), the London Ambulance Service, and the Met Police were all called to a flat fire in Surbiton this morning (Tuesday, 19 August).

The call was to a fire at a ground floor flat on Ewell Road at 11.46am on Tuesday.

No serious injuries have been reported; however, one man suffered from smoke inhalation before being treated by the London Ambulance Service at the scene, and a small part of the flat was damaged by the fire.

An LFB spokesperson told Kingston Nub News: "We were called to a fire at a ground floor flat on Ewell Road in Surbiton at 1146.

"One man left the building before the Brigade arrived and was suffering from smoke inhalation. He was treated on scene by London Ambulance Service. A small part of the flat was damaged by fire.

"Fire crews from New Malden and Kingston fire stations attended with Surrey Fire and Rescue Service colleagues. The fire was under control by 1225."

The Met Police have also been contacted for statement.
